Can you suggest six names of great mathematicians quickly?I require to do a school project on Three Great Mathematicians. So can you give me a list of six such people so that I can choose from? Re: Can you suggest six names of great mathematicians quickly?Hi; In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. #4 2012-06-12 00:31:03

Re: Can you suggest six names of great mathematicians quickly?Fibonacci is best known to the modern world for the spreading of the Hindu–Arabic numeral system in Europe, primarily through the publication in 1202 of his Liber Abaci (Book of Calculation), and for a number sequence named the Fibonacci numbers after him, which he did not discover but used as an example in the Liber Abaci. Character is who you are when no one is looking. #13 2012-06-13 04:52:42

Re: Can you suggest six names of great mathematicians quickly?I have read it before. I answered your question. The limit operator is just an excuse for doing something you know you can't. “It's the subject that nobody knows anything about that we can all talk about!” ― Richard Feynman “A secret's worth depends on the people from whom it must be kept.” ― Carlos Ruiz Zafón #18 2012-06-13 21:35:39

Re: Can you suggest six names of great mathematicians quickly? That doesn't and shouldn't be true. E.g. if you said that Hitler was a great guy who loved Jews, should I believe you? Re: Can you suggest six names of great mathematicians quickly?I am just saying that something you say isn't always necessarily true. You have admitted yourself that you can sometimes be wrong.
