Re: Bafflers?

The method you may have used ( solving an equation ) does not always work.

When have I said that I had been solving an equation?

Re: Bafflers?

That is the point. You are not showing any work. I have to guess at your proof.

Re: Bafflers?

New Problem:

We start with the sequence a0, a1, a2, a3,... with a0 being a positive integer and the recurrence

If the last digit of

is 5 or less then that digit is dropped. The process stops when
has no more digits.

1) Can you find an a0 that will produce an infinite sequence?

2) An a0 that will produce a finite sequence?

How can an infinite sequence produce a finite one?

Re: Bafflers?

I suspect that this is connected to the 9^9^9^9 problem you were trying to solve.

Re: Bafflers?

Depends on what you mean by the word solve. In the experimental sense I solved it. But no, it is not related to that monstrosity.

The 9^9^9^9 problem. Experimentally,of course.

What is the solution? And how in the world did you get the answer?

Re: Bafflers?

Although the technique to compute such a thing was shown to me 9^9^9 times I refused to understand it. That produced a brain caniption and now I can not understand it. Anyway, I wanted a math solution to it, hahahahahahahahahahahahhahaahh!
