Hi gAr;

Yes, me neither. There is still a lot more to learn.

Hi gAr;

In my excitement to have found a solution and to post it, I butchered the question.

Re: Is this cool with you?

Hi bobbym,

I did not get you. Is there something more in that question?

Re: Is this cool with you?

Yes, the question should have read the gambler could bet on heads or tails or both. This does not change the answer but leaves out a fine point in the solution.

Re: Is this cool with you?

That means, after each flip he can change his bet from head to tail and vice versa? Doesn't that change the answer?

Re: Is this cool with you?

Okay, this is confusing me.
I'll need to understand it before I can comment anything!
It's a good problem, thank you.

Hi gAr;

I am confused about whether or not he can change his bet from head to tail. He does not say he can not.

Hi gAr;

See you later. Let me know if you want to see the derivation of the answer.

Hi,

Actually, I came to post a sum which I derived.
I'll check your solution tomorrow. See you!

Re: Is this cool with you?

Hi gAr;

I did not fully understand it either.

New problem!

Compute the Torricelli point for a triangle located at (0,0), (3,0),(0,4). You will need a convincing method, one that you could teach a computer.

A says) That is so easy. Problem was solved by Galileo thousands of years ago.

B says) Galileo? Why is it called Torricelli point? By the way it is not easy to generalize.

C says) A is right.

D says) C is right!

E says) How I hate this place. Galileo had nothing to do with it.
