Back engineering is a technique that engineers understand well but mathematicians hardly know about. You have the finished product and go backwards to how it might have been done.

The last one? That was done by one of the most powerful techniques in experimental math, PSLQ or positive least squares.

It is an extension of some of Euler's ideas on the solution of diophantine equations. He was working with a x + b y = c. Sort of an extended GCD algorithm. In the 70's or so they came up with LLL and PSLQ to solve this type  a1* x1 + a2 * x2 + a3 * x3 +...+an * xn = c.

I am finished with them.

1) I tried by hand many different structures.

2) The PSLQ algorithm that solved some of the others, choked on those.

You can post the answers and add new ones.
