Is this supposed to be funny?
Now that is sad. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. #2 2012-02-03 01:45:40
Re: Is this supposed to be funny?Awesome professor! "Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense" - Buddha? "Data! Data! Data!" he cried impatiently. "I can't make bricks without clay." #3 2012-02-03 01:48:45
Re: Is this supposed to be funny?Awesome, I was thinking the same thing. I only wish we had 10,000 just like him... We have 20,000. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. #4 2012-02-03 01:54:08
Re: Is this supposed to be funny?Or maybe even more! "Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense" - Buddha? "Data! Data! Data!" he cried impatiently. "I can't make bricks without clay." #5 2012-02-03 02:01:15
Re: Is this supposed to be funny?Yes, all of them live here and run everything. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. #6 2012-02-04 03:10:01
Re: Is this supposed to be funny? Are you saying that the professor set them up with Sibebius backwards to see if someone would take the hook? or am i missing something. Imagine for a moment that even an earthworm may possess a love of self and a love of others. #7 2012-02-04 05:09:18
Re: Is this supposed to be funny?Possibly, but there is another interpretation to this. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. |
