I just wrote a research paper about this. I think it's really amazing and cool.
A way to store 60% of the sun's energy in zinc metal, which can be used in zinc-air fuel cells. It (zinc) energy-dense enough to give 150 miles/gallon. I so want one of those.

I once calculated (when I had my hands on specific data) that the area underneath the main transmission lines (the big towers, not the street poles), if it were used for solar collection, would be able to create nearly as much energy as the power station! J
ust not reliably. So storage is a big issue for solar power.
There is actually quite a large area under transmission lines. They often go for 100s of kilometers, and there is a wide buffer either side (I can't quite recall, but 50m perhaps). Multiply this area by solar radiation, apply a conversion percentage and you have quite a lot of MW.

Sounds cool! Hook the panels into the lines, and throttle down the plant.
The trouble is (as has always been the case with PV) that that much photovoltaics would be prohibitively expensive. I wonder if it would be more cost-effective to put wind turbines under the lines?

I had it wrong (the second part, I mean). I had thought that bocado was feminine (bocada), even though it made no sense in the context of the saying I thought I had heard (so I wrote it as india rather than indio). I actually had to research it! 
"Indio" in colloquial Nicaraguan means a person that is base, crude, and rude; it's an insult. Nevertheless, the saying is not insulting. (Go figure. Languages are strange.)
The general meaning is, "I've eaten, so I'm leaving," and "I'm still here, so I must still be hungry!"
