Rolling Regular Polygons around a CircleRolling Regular Polygons around a Circle: Last edited by benice (2011-11-28 21:14:22) My Gallery of Math Art: benice equation #2 2011-11-22 00:46:54
Re: Rolling Regular Polygons around a CircleHi benice; In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. #3 2011-11-22 00:52:10

Re: Rolling Regular Polygons around a CircleWhen a corner is pivoting, all is easy, however, when the edge of the polygon is rolling of the circle, things get harder, in my "at a glance" opinion. Consider rolling along a flat edge instead of a circle, then the edge rolling doesn't happen. Imagine for a moment that even an earthworm may possess a love of self and a love of others. |
