Other subjectsCurrently, mathisfun is a fairly good website consisting of many subject tutorials. Although, I believe it would be much better if the site was accommodating more subjects such as: I have discovered a truly marvellous signature, which this margin is too narrow to contain. Fermat Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world. Archimedes Young man, in mathematics you don't understand things. You just get used to them. Re: Other subjectsi would very much like to see Science and Linguistics here.but all of this could maybe mess with the main purpose of this forum(math). The limit operator is just an excuse for doing something you know you can't. “It's the subject that nobody knows anything about that we can all talk about!” ― Richard Feynman “Taking a new step, uttering a new word, is what people fear most.” ― Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Crime and Punishment #3 20110910 06:55:51
Re: Other subjectsThe main focus could be on math, but the other subjects should be included too. By the way, my helping with mystar wars calculus thing? I have to give it in by a few minutes. Re: Other subjectsI have always wanted to do Science, but the owner of "ScienceIsFun.com" won't sell ... the domain just sits there doing nothing. "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." Leon M. Lederman #5 20110910 09:52:46
Re: Other subjectsScienceIsFun? I am checking on that.
Those subjects should be kept apart from mathematics. But sprinkled around on this site are many conversations about quantum mechanics, evolution, darwinism, dawkinism, cryptozoology, etc. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #6 20110910 11:01:53
Re: Other subjectsMathisfun, you don't need to buy a domain. Just add the subjects to this site, as extra tutorials. Similar to what onlinemathlearning has done. their main focus is math, but they have the other subjects too. Well, only science but still. Re: Other subjectsIt just seems odd: MathsIsFun.com/biology ... "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." Leon M. Lederman #8 20110910 12:09:22
Re: Other subjectsNot necessarily. Just add an "other" link then. That would consist of all the other tutorials. Re: Other subjects
I wholly agree. A bit of training in art, for example, would teach people the difference between art and trash. 134 books currently added on Goodreads #10 20140222 14:20:57
