which quote should the management accept, and how much will they save compared to the other quote.

1. 12%=.12, 1/4=.25, 3/10=.3 These are just ratios that need to be multiplied by your total.
roof cost = .12(200000)= 24000
beds cost = .25(200000) = 50000
refit cost = .3(200000) = 60000
bank deposit = total grant - total expenditure = 200000-134000 = 66000
fraction deposited = bank deposit / total grant = 66000 / 200000 = .33 or 33%
cost a = (15-1)700 = 9800
cost b = 15(600) + .01(15)600 = 9000 + 90 = 9090
Therefore cost b is much cheaper.
savings = cost a - cost b = 710
