Angle between two points with x and y coordinatesAngle in between two points with x , y coordinates Last edited by model (2011-08-11 15:35:00) Maths is Doctor that make our life easy .. https://www.facebook.com/groups/Maths.GIS/ #2 2011-08-11 17:37:10
Re: Angle between two points with x and y coordinateshi model I thought you wanted (v) The function atan will return the 'principle value' ; most likely this will be an angle between -90 and +90. If you want to get a positive angle for any co-ordinates, you'll need to test the sign of the answer rather than worry about the size of the angle. (vi) I do not understand the output "move to right/left side" means. Please explain what you are trying to achieve here. (vii) You have an angle of 171 for these co-ordinates. I make it 10.9 degrees. Are we talking about the same thing? Please post again, Bob Last edited by bob bundy (2011-08-11 18:23:22) You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him find it within himself..........Galileo Galilei #3 2011-08-17 18:06:24

Re: Angle between two points with x and y coordinatesWell @Bob , I changed my condition regarding angle direction to eat side or west side . Last edited by model (2011-08-17 18:33:57) Maths is Doctor that make our life easy .. https://www.facebook.com/groups/Maths.GIS/ #5 2011-08-17 18:45:08

Re: Angle between two points with x and y coordinatesHi model;
Isn't that two points?
What are you asking here is for the angle between two line segments that are determined by 4 points. Is this correct? In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. Probability is the most important concept in modern science, especially as nobody has the slightest notion what it means. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. #10 2011-08-18 04:52:28

Sorry, but I don't understand what you mean. You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him find it within himself..........Galileo Galilei #11 2011-08-18 13:19:12
