Drunken man with a gun...Hi all, "widen your gaze... extend beyond the obvious..." #2 2011-07-22 20:29:59

Re: Drunken man with a gun...Hi gAr; In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. Probability is the most important concept in modern science, especially as nobody has the slightest notion what it means. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. #5 2011-07-22 21:18:08
Re: Drunken man with a gun...Hi anandbrar, and R: The first 7 rows are for single shot. What happened to your software? Re: Drunken man with a gun...Hi gAr, 2. two consecutive shots 2nd and 3rd -> 3. 4. the probability reaches a max here out of the six cases that i tested. 5. 6. the probability has already started falling...needless to put in the sixth case 7. Super Shot : probability at Super Shot: 7/8 ----- (1) to reach super shot probability 7/8 * 6/8 * 5/8 * 4/8 * 3/8 * 2/8 ----- (2) Hence total probability = (1) * (2) = 0.0168 I would be grateful if any loopholes be pointed out..i think there are some.. Thanks in advance! "widen your gaze... extend beyond the obvious..." #9 2011-07-22 22:55:49
Re: Drunken man with a gun...Hi anandbrar, But your answer seems to be answering a different question. Is there something else you need?
