because they have no idea if its thick or thin

Do you really think that is true? Your dog will defend you with its life. Got any friends like that? I am not talking about how the dog feels about you, I am talking about how you should feel about your dog.

Re: """Friends""""

hi

Aren't dogs the way they are because for millions of generations we've bred them that way?

Dog, is man's or woman's best friend!

Usually I agree with that guy in post 13 but I think a permutation is required here:

Woman is man's or dog's best friend!

Haven't we been trying to breed men, women and children to be like that for millions of years? The mighty dog is the only one that listens.

Re: """Friends""""

Arrhhh.  Now you are approaching the truth.

Dogs have been breeding men for years.  At last they have got a species that can throw sticks for them.  Not very ambitious, but then, dogs don't have a high opinion of man's intelligence.

Man and dog, living together. Thrower and retriever, in perfect harmony. Now try to get a bunch of humans all making 30 million a year to play together.

Re: """Friends""""

Humans cannot make 30 million a year. At best, maybe 1, 2 or 3.  That's why it's taken such a long time for stick throwing to evolve by natural selection.

The dog will get your slippers, eat burglars, herd your sheep, sniff out bedbugs, detect drugs, act as seeing eyes. Divorce case I knew of, they hated each other but they fought over who gets the dog. You know why? Because the dog loved them both. Their friends took sides, the dog did not.

Hi survival;

Please do not listen to that kaboobly doo. Men and women can not be friends.

I suggest renting and watching "When Harry met Sally." It is all in there.

Re: """Friends""""

hi

I own that movie.  Great story and lots of fun to watch.

But the premise on which the story is based is that diagram (i) below applies.

But it's only a film, not real life.

I find that diagram (ii) works for me.

And if it doesn't for you, I submit you should try another lover(s) until you find someone where it does!

We really do.... That's incredibly sad.
I have to learn how to ignore people better, then I won't be so desperate.

I would not wish that date on anyone.

I knew I would get into something, since I was off all summer. It is a shame the two genders cannot live without one another. That would be a cure. (well, they can, but it is a thing about hormnes perhaps.)

I would!

To me, these are the sets that cover the relationships, with the overlapping
of certain sets:

{strangers}

{acquaintances}

{friends}

{lovers}

{frenemies}

{enemies}

hi anonimnystefy

I would have thought these are mutually exclusive sets; and therefore already covered by the others in the list.

btw: Stefan works in English too.
