Plz Explain What Is Lcache & Dcache Memory ?

Hi;

The way I understand it, cache memory is located in the CPU or very close to it. Therefore it is faster than ordinary ram. It is also much smaller. The CPU uses it to store the registers and some special locations. I have heard of L1 and L2 cache but I have not heard of Dcache. Go here for more.
