Re: HELP me

Hi Jlo;

I am having trouble reading that, please check to see if I have the points right for #9.

If I have the points right then this is the best fit line.

y = 0.5 x+3.000909090909091 you can safely truncate this to
y = 0.5 x+3

For questions 13 and 15 please copy them word for word. The copies you have up there seem to have the edges missing. Please tell me the name and author of the book.

Re: HELP me

hi numbers for 9 are right.

13. find the best predicted cost of slice of pizza when the consumer price index (CPI) is 182.5 (in the year 2000)

15.  Blood preasure measurements. Find the best predicted systolic blood pressure in the left arm given the systolic blood pressure in the right arm in 100 mm Hg.

the book is called 'essentials of statistics' by maria f triola.

Re: HELP me

Hi

13)

If I am seeing the points correctly.

I fit a linear regression model through the points and then I plugged in CPI =182.5.

The projected cost of the pizza slice will be 1.67

15)

I fit a linear regression model through the points and then I plugged in right = 100.

175.03 is the systolic pressure in the left arm.

Please check both sets of points for accuracy.
