Factoring and Dividing??

Hi again, I have two more questions that I didn't know how to do.

If f(x)=3x^3+2x^2-19x+6, show that 3x-1 is a factor of f(x)

The last question is...
Using long division completely factorise f(x)

I'm really confused about doing the long division part and I'm not sure how to do what follows after that. The examples in my text book are being really unclear sad

Re: Factoring and Dividing??

Hey, thanks.
But I'm still a little confused. So does -18+6 show that it's a factor?

I also don't really understand the equation you made at the bottom. Sorry I'm really slow sad

Hi Brent,

Can you factorize this?
