Re: Is this cool with you?

Hi gAr;

Yes, it is my fault. Your equation and mine are the same. Mine is n = 27 for instance and yours is for 3 (9). That is what threw me. Very good solution! Wunderbar!

Thanks for looking at the problem.

Hi bobbym,

Oh, ok. You mentioned the length to be 3n in the problem.
Thank you, nice problem!

Re: Is this cool with you?

Hi;

I made the same mistake earlier today where the problem was given as 2n instead of 3n. I solved in terms of n and he solved in terms of 2n. I thought he had the wrong answer. I plugged in 12 and 12 for his instead of 12 and 6, so naturally they were different. Now 4 hours later I forgot and did it again.

I see.

Sure are! They are the ones that you can keep looking at and not see them.

I have to do a couple of chores so I will see you later.

New problem!

So tough it is optional.

Unscramble the letters to make a valid equation.

Re: Is this cool with you?

Hi bobbym,

I cheated for the first word of the equation by using an anagram generator: http://wordsmith.org/anagram/
I was thinking only about integers until then.

Hi gAr;

What do you think I do when I have to do these? The exact same thing! The net is there to be used!

Re: Is this cool with you?

New problem!

A and B go golfing. There life time scores are like this:

The numbers represent how many times each has had that score, for instance B has shot an 85, 250 times in his life.

A believes B is a better golfer than he is so he demands a three stroke edge. In other words he wants 3 strokes deducted from his score. B agrees immediately. If least scores win what percentage of the time does B win and what percentage of the time do they draw?

Re: Is this cool with you?

Hi bobbym,

I calculated the weighted average, A's average is less than B's.
So if lower score wins, doesn't that mean A is the better player? So A might be the winner always!
