Self Teaching Geometry?Hey. I've always wanted to learn geometry by myself, but don't really know where to start. Somebody mind helping me out a bit? Books, websites, anything. Last edited by Otsdarva (2010-12-26 17:36:02) #2 2010-12-27 00:08:38
Re: Self Teaching Geometry?Hi Otsdarva; In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. #3 2010-12-27 01:53:52

Re: Self Teaching Geometry?
I just want to start geometry from the ground up, if you catch my drift. #5 2010-12-27 03:38:26

Re: Self Teaching Geometry?Thanks bobbym. Where do I go from there once I have the basics down? #7 2010-12-27 04:03:53

Re: Self Teaching Geometry?Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. One of the problems I have is with proofs, though. Hard as hell for me. #9 2010-12-28 17:02:57

Re: Self Teaching Geometry?Late reply but after studying what was on your site I bought a Cliffs Geometry QuickReview book. Indeed my interest has kicked in once again and I'm starting to build a Geometry mindset. #12 2011-03-16 17:25:55

Re: Self Teaching Geometry?Thanks bobbym and just recently I recovered a lot of focus I was missing before. I'm proud to be able to understand most of secondary school geometry and soon I will move on to the advanced. #14 2011-03-18 09:31:37
Re: Self Teaching Geometry?Hi Otsdarva;
Sounds like you are pumping up some neurons. But there is a danger, the brain only has a finite capacity. If you stuff too much geometry in their you could replace vital information.
