Re: Microsoft Math 3.0??
That is a common thing for computer scientists to do. We use metaphors so that people have knowledge of the product/tool/whatever just by hearing the name. "In the real world, this would be a problem. But in mathematics, we can just define a place where this problem doesn't exist. So we'll go ahead and do that now..." #6 2007-06-22 11:19:36
Re: Microsoft Math 3.0??Who is gonna be the successor of Netscape or ICQ? X'(y-Xβ)=0 #7 2007-06-22 20:02:01

I think maple has handwritten symbol recognition too. #11 2007-07-29 13:49:33

Re: Microsoft Math 3.0??I just don't get it. Why does Microsoft want to rule the world with a replica of a scientific calculator? What good would it gain, apart from a short term applause from soon to be ungrateful audience? I shall be on leave until I say so... #16 2007-09-07 09:31:16

Re: Microsoft Math 3.0??Hi Tron779; In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. Probability is the most important concept in modern science, especially as nobody has the slightest notion what it means. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. #23 2010-12-01 11:36:58
Re: Microsoft Math 3.0??Hey thanks guys .....I guess microsoft di the same thing they did with VISTA you buy the product and then they want you to pay again for the fixes only this time there's no support either ! #24 2010-12-01 11:39:10
