Hi;

It is a good book. Right up there with Abramowitz and Stegun. I was just using it on a really tough integral.
Page 112 the Ostragradsky and Hermite method, did not do the integral but I learned a ton.

Drawbacks are, it's size. You will need a lot reference material to use it effectively.
The notation they use takes some getting used to.
Written in the Soviet style like the Vilenkin book, so they tend to go their own way.

Nice review. I do not recommend it as he does for scaring girlfriends away.
A Smith and Wesson is still better for defense.


In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
Probability is the most important concept in modern science, especially as nobody has the slightest notion what it means.
90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics.
