Rationalising denominators.

hey, i was wondering if you could show me how to rationalise the denomiators on a couple of these, in easy steps.
1
----
√ 2

√ 2
------
3√ 3

√ 43 - √ 23
-------------
√ 43 + √ 23

Re: Rationalising denominators.

As in getting rid of radicals in the denominator?

Re: Rationalising denominators.

√43 - √23        √43 - √23     43 - 2√(43x23) + 23      66 - 2√989
------------- x  ------------ = ------------------------ =  -------------
√43 + √23       √43 - √23              43 - 23                      20

The math tag looks rather complex.

Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.

Re: Rationalising denominators.

Clever maths people, how do you deduce (-1) x (-1)= 1
