Re: 3 U's

Hi John;

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it.
All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof.

Yes, you are right!!!!
It is unusual, and somewhat strange too.

If you keep staring at it. then it will start to look as if it is spelled wrong. If you use unusual in a sentence a couple of times you will forget how to spell it.

Re: 3 U's

I had thought that such words would be ubiquitous, but my search has proved unfruitful and now I am feeling rather lugubrious.

I assure you that I am scrupulous, and will resent any accusation that I have been untruthful.

Re: 3 U's

Engaging in this verbal jujutsu is certainly unfruitful and maybe uncultured but it is certainly
not unthoughtful or unadventurous. You may call writng like this unctuous, unstructured and superfluous but...
Perhaps we can be more presumptuous and think of it like a luxurious trip to Albuquerque or a visit to
your voluptuous acupuncturist.
