Wow... Hi! ^.^

wave Hello, I was googling vector formulas for my precal final exam tomorrow, because I lost the sheet our teacher gave us, and found this site. I'm amazed, I had no idea there was a forum just for math!

I'm a junior in high school (soon to be a senior O.o). This forum looks to be very useful in the coming months, since I will be in AP Calculus BC next year. I hope to get to know this site fully, and lots of people on it too  =B

Incidentally, what are the [math] tags for? I mean, what do they do? =P

Hi hermione_brains!

the [math tag helps you use LaTeX to format your equations for better display.

Re: Wow... Hi! ^.^

Thanks ZHero! So, the forward slashes separate the different... terms, for lack of a better word, and the {}  brackets group them? frac is fractions... anything else? What if you wanted to use a subnumeral?

And I think it works either way, sometimes it's hard words for easy ideas but others it's easy words for hard ideas =DDD

Hi hermione_brains;

Use shift key and then minus key, and wrap what you want subscripted in {}. So it is A_{23} would get.

You can just right click on anybody's latex to see the code that produced it.

Yes! The forward slashes "" can either be used to separate "terms", to introduce "single space" or to use "special symbols".
