How do you factor:

x^3- 74x^2- 52x- 24

Hi Spanky;

Factoring is an art and on anything other than a book problem no easier that getting the roots of the equation. That I do not see as a book problem, so don't expect book methods to work well. Have you copied the problem correctly? Did you invent the problem?

You did it right.

Why do you need to factor the numerator? Were you attempting to simplify the expression?

Yeah, I was hoping to simplify the problem and cross out things in the numerator and denominator.  It just seemed too big for an answer.  Thanks for checking my work!
