Inverse Variation Problem

y varies inversely as x with a constant of variation of -20. Determine x when y is 26.

Hi Spanky;

When y varies inversely with x we maen:

y = k / x or xy = k. Now you say k = - 20, so we have:

26 x = - 20

x = - 20 / 26
