I just checked my birth certificate and was dismayed to find that the '8' is actually a badly-written '3'. In fact, the certificate is so old now that the other cyphers are too hard for me to read - even with my bottle-bottom glasses and my magnifiers.

That person you saw in the stands waving his tiny flag only appears to look like that. In 1683 that person then a middle aged man and serving as the personal bodyguard to the Countess Elaina Von Wurten, 21, a woman of noble breed and great beauty and intelligence. She was also of questionable morality and affiliations. After a brief love affair, she bit that person. He suffered from the viral disease we now laughingly call vampirism. He died in the human sense on June 3 1683.
