My exercise

I felt like I wasn't getting enough exercise, so
I went into the garage and found a 5 foot board,
6 x 1.75", and I cut it in half by hand.  Then I
pounded some nails into it and pried them back
out with the back end of the hammer.  Getting
the tiny nails out was harder than the large
one because the tiny ones didn't have heads on
them to pull on, so I got some pliars, and yanked
out a few, but they were all in a bunch going into
the same hole, just a test to see what would
happen.  Finally to get the last 2 stubborn small
nails out, I used pliars and the hammer at the
same time to lever the pliars upward and that
worked like a charm!!  Usually for exercise I do
a little walking or carrying garbage barrels down
our 400 foot driveway (parents house), on dump
day.  But this was fun!  Now I think I'll vacuum
the livingroom...

Boo-Boo (an orange cat) threw up on the rug 10 minutes after I vacuumed it, but it
was easy to clean up luckily!! smile

Re: My exercise

I started bending at the waist backwards and forward to country music.
That should take off a few grams of fat!

Re: My exercise

Hi John;

Just watch your back, with all that bending.

Re: My exercise

Good idea.  So far I've been very lucky.
I heard you have a back injury, and I know
many such people with back pain.  Luckily,
I have only been in that category for
short periods of time throughout my life.

Re: My exercise

Ooh, I can do that! Or, at least, I could last year. Or maybe it was the year before that...

Re: My exercise

I just ate some instant oatmeal, an hour after New England Clam Chowder from a can.
I think I'll go to the transfer station, and bring old newspapers and magazines, cardboard, today
with my Dad.

Re: My exercise

Bought a 70lb. sand tube, since we ran out in the last icy rain 3 days ago.
That's almost impossible to lift for long in one hand, especially the left arm,
also because gripping is hard.  If you let the sand tube rest against your
body, that takes off much of the weight, making the job easier though, to
move it, or your can drag it, it is pretty tough, and I'm dragging it on sandy
ice anyway, so there isn't much friction to hurt the bag.    I got exercise
with soda.  I opened some soda, and it fizzed all over the counter and floor.
Then I cleaned that up, and opened a different brand later, and it did the
same thing!!  I used bleach cleaner to get the grape color off the 2nd time...
My Dad's Barq's rootbeer didn't fizz though smile

Re: My exercise

Hmmm...  Did you know that 24 thousand 9 hundred ninety-nine is divisible by 13, and the
largest factor is 641, a prime number?

For exercise today, I am not done yet, but have done some woodworking, and lifting 20lb. dumbbells.
The woodworking is just silly practice, like turning screws into wood and removing them, wearing
goggles and hammering a nail in sideways to make a funny dent in the wood.  Just testing...

Here's another one I just discovered:
641 and 5039 are both prime numbers and they
multiply to 3229999.
That's 3.229999 million, to the dot.

Re: My exercise

I love the triangle song mathsy pointed out!!
So did you know that 799999 and 1111151 and 1111181 are all prime numbers?
Yes, My BASIC program seems to say they are.
Back to lifting 20lb. weights...

I was just noticing in the places around the world thread, we
have said Aukland, Ontario, New York, Ecuador, and maybe one other place
twice.  Be careful...

Re: My exercise

I just came up with a wonderful exhausting exercise.
Bend your knees and put your hands on your
knees.  Then push yourself back up by using your
arms, and automatically your legs will do some of
the work if your arms get tired probably.  Repeat
until you are tired or something snaps! smile

(don't forget the background music)

After you get good at it, you can fly to the music
into the air too, but stop if something aches a little...

(I'm doing it barefoot, if that matters on a rug)

(My hands are just above my knee caps onto my thighs.
That way, you don't push your knee caps off...)

Re: My exercise

This week I've been walking with or without hand weights
on the road.   I've been trying to do long division by hand,
but allowing negative digits in the answer, so the process
has smaller numbers down below in the subtraction part.
Whatever number comes closer, just right it down, even
if you go over, because the compensation will happen
later.

Re: My exercise

Hi John;

Walking is great exercise and so interesting. You get to see so many people. Better than a movie.

Re: My exercise

Sometimes I meet people, but we live in the "sticks", so the houses
are 400 feet apart or so.  Sometimes I talk to neighbors, and in the
summer, there are more people to talk to that walk further along the
road.  And sometimes a woman on a horse goes by I asked how
much the horse weighed.  She said 900 lbs.
