Re: HELP graphing fraction function

Hi avva;

http://www.mathsisfun.com/graph/functio … =-8&ymax=8

Function has a simple pole at x = -1. Factor the denominator to see that. Domain of the function is:

(- ∞ , 1) U (1 , + ∞)

Try to get the range from this.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
Always satisfy the Prime Directive of getting the right answer above all else.

Hi Avva;

Did you figure the range?

Re: HELP graphing fraction function

SORRY I'd mistaken the sign preceding 1 in the numerator
my Mr solved it for me today
F(x)=x^2-x+1/(x+1)(x^2-x+1)=1/x+1
http://www.mathsisfun.com/data/function-grapher.php?func1=(x^2-x-1)/(x^3+1)&xmin=-12&xmax=12&ymin=-8&ymax=8
Domain=R-{-1}
Range=R-{0}
Decreasing in (-∞,∞)-{-1}
am very sorry for that stupid mistake i had made
