Dividing by Zero

I thought I would make a page on Dividing by Zero

I don't think it is very good at all, so I am hoping for some good criticisms and ideas.

Re: Dividing by Zero

Hi Mathsifun;

It's understandable and makes the point. So what's wrong with it? Nothing!

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
Probability is the most important concept in modern science, especially as nobody has the slightest notion what it means.
90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics.

Re: Dividing by Zero

For centuries it has been undefined, but today...

...I define it to be equal to be 42!!!

Hi identity;

That clears up some problems I have been having.

Re: Dividing by Zero

If I where you I would also put that 12/0=0 because if there are 0 people how do you split it up so that is is equal

Re: Dividing by Zero

But it can't be zero, or you have turned 12 chocolates into nothing, which would be a waste of good chocolate smile

No, a mystery guest named Mr. Bubbles walks in and eats them all. No waste! smile
