Re: Wink Murder 2

So, the murderer's been clever by killing the witnesses. However, they've also given away a few hints that they didn't mean to.

1) The image awards have been changing before the people have posted their deaths, meaning the murderer is a mod/Rod.
2) Murderers have been happening despite the fact that Rora's not here.

So...

SUSPECTS                                   WITNESSES                                       DECEASED
MathsIsFun                                   insomnia                                           Zach
mathsyperson (guessed)               Roraborealis (guessed)                       justlookingforthemoment
                                                                                                           ganesh

Two suspects, two guessers. Anything could happen now.

I got killed when I was riding a bike, and I was shot at a short range with a pistol in the head sad

Re: Wink Murder 2

I guess mathsyperson as he is writing too much and is commenting on the state of play, every single post. He is trying to lure us in to a false sense of security. Also, he is a Moderator which makes him a high suspect along with Rod.

GET HIM!! *if I'm right*

If it had been me, Rod would have definately guessed me instead of making this post, as I am the only suspect left apart from him. This means that it is him and you could have clearly seen that. Oh well, better luck next time and stuff.

So, the only suspect left is Rod, but he's also the only person left to guess, which means that he, the murderer, has won.
Unless Rora got extremely clever and murdered us while resisting the temptation to come on here, which I highly doubt.
Rod, could you clear this up for us?

Re: Wink Murder 2

OK, OK, I was just messing around. It was ME! (Much to my horror)

And I said "Get him everybody, before he escapes!", so that I could secretly slip out the side door and make my escape.

Re: Wink Murder 2

It couldn't have been Rora anyway...Rod said, 'Get him'.

And when does the next round start? smile

Re: Wink Murder 2

Whenever someone decides to host it. I'll give everyone else a chance to host it if they want, and then start it tomorrow if no one does.

I'm assuming everyone's still playing, except Rora and Zach, and I've reset the image awards.

Re: Wink Murder 2

Thanks for resetting, mathsy.

So, should we start a Wink Murder 3?

Any lessons from Ep.2 ?  I personally tried for one victim a day, but email is not very effective sometimes. We could just "Wink" the victim and let them post their story when thet discover this. But it is more fun to see the story unfold on the screen, and see the wink after. Any ideas?

Re: Wink Murder 2

The problem with the image awards is that only mods can do it, which means insomnia, ganesh and anyone else who wants to play won't be able to be the murderer. Plus, it is more fun for us to hear news of the murder from the victim, rather than us seeing it sitting on their avatar. Emails aren't perfect, but it seems that at the moment they're the best we've got, unless you can get up some kind of private messaging thingy.

Re: Wink Murder 2

I have shied away from trying to add PM to the forum, because we need to look after the younger members, and everything has to be monitored. Perhaps there is a way of only allowing PM between trusted members. I might look around to see what is available.

Re: Wink Murder 2

Can't anyone be the murderer? Just send emails, and then people will post their death...then when a moderator sees the post, they can change the image award. And if the murderer is a mod, then just don't change the award until the victim has posted.

Re: Wink Murder 2

Image awards are fine when used alongside emails, but MathsIsFun suggested using them on their own.

Re: Wink Murder 2

looking, that's a good idea. Anyone can be a murderer, but image awards must be seen to when the next mod/admin arrives on the board, and after the murder has been declared.
I just hope we can get this sort of private private messenger thingy.

Re: Wink Murder 2

Are we playing at the moment? I don't mind if we're not but it's just a bit confusing...because everytime I see my name it says 'playing'.

And if we aren't playing...are we waiting for something/someone?

Re: Wink Murder 2

I don't think we're waiting for anyone. Zach's not here, but he won't be for mroe than a week, so we can probably fit a game in without him. I said I'd start it a while ago, but then I didn't bother because the boards were very quiet. They've got more active again now, so I'll start it. Let the games begin!

Re: Wink Murder 2

Should we start a new topic (Wink Murder 3), and let people register? Some are still on holidays ...

Maybe some of the new members would like to have a go too.

I already sent the 'it's you!' to someone and that was just after I made that post, so the game could start at any time.

Re: Wink Murder 2

I have just had a puzzle sent to me ... it seems very easy.

... a simple note that says "Prove that 1=1"

Wellll... doesn't 1=1? but how do we PROVE it?

What if you add 1, then 1+1=1+1, but that just says 2=2.

Oooh ... I feel a headache coming on ...

Now let me see, 1/1 = 1/1, no that doesn't work

... the headache is getting worse and I feel dizzy ...

Maybe 1-1=0? But that isn't a proof ...

I ... I  ... who sent that NOTE? ... I ... I ....

Arrrrggghhhhh !!!!

* falls down dead *
