Solid Mensuration VIII

A conical pile of sand 4m in height has a volume of 30 cubic meters. If the bottom of the pile is on level ground, how much ground does it cover?

The formula for the Volume V of a cone is

So:

Solve for the the radius r

The bottom of a cone is a circle with Area A

Plug in and solve
