vector equation of the line tangent to the graph

hey im just goin through old tutorials in preperation for my exam and came across this question

Find the vector equation of the line tangent to the graph of r(t) at the point P0(0,−1, 1/4 ) on the curve.

my lecturer gave this soloution

Solution: The point P0(0,−1, 1/4 ) on the curve corresponds to t = 1. We find
r0 = r(1) = −j +1/4k , v0 =dr/dt(1) = i − j +1/2k .

Thus the tangent line equation is
r = r0 + (t − 1) v0 = (t − 1) i − t j +1/2(t −1/2) k .

i get all of it except the bit where he finds v0 and was wondering if some1 could explain it to me
