Fun way to remember PI

Hi, I'm new here and just wanted to post an awesome way to remember pi up to 30 decimal places!

To remember it you must remember this "poem":

For I must a verse prescribe,
By artful sense and words describe,
Rhyming's Cryptic Chemistry,
Bit by bit, wiggling free,
Circle by circle, soon you see,
sketched out in Grecian Schoolery.

The secret to getting PI out of it is to count the number of letters in each word. (3.1415926535897...) and you get PI to 30 decimal places!
This has definately helped me in exams!:D
Hope it helps, anyway,
Regnar.

The 186,557,266-186,557,274 digits of PI is 12345678.             (tinyurl.com/pisearch)

Nice, regnar998, and welcome to the forum!

Though... very few decimal places are needed in exams. I'd say minimum 2, maximum 10.

Re: Fun way to remember PI

Yeah... But we had a bonus question where we got the same amount of extra marks as we could write down digits.

BUT even better you can simply remember the sentence:

How I wish i could calculate pi

The deal is the same... Add the numbers in each word and get pi. Though you could just remember the actual digits. Thats so boring...:|  tongue

Does anyone else know sentences/verses like these? Make some up?

Look at this one, lol. My german is so bad it's easier to memorize the digits.

Zie, 'k geef u thans, geleerden en leeken, ouden van dagen, frissche studenten, weinige regeltjes, die mij zijn gebleken, vaak nuttig te werken voor tal van docenten. Zie nu hoeveel decimalen.
