is maths hard?

relatively, i think maths is hard and sometimes very complicated. it has too much things to learn, and some of the things are not that essential in everyday life, but still life doesn't stop, you will have to learn all the facts to get a high grade in your exam, or else you might suffer afterwards, and you may want to improve it at a later date.

Re: is maths hard?

What you say makes sense, kkk.

Basic maths has applications in everyday life. For example fractions, ratios, etc. you use when shopping, cooking and so on.

And some of the advanced maths you may never, or it may be absolutley essential, *depending on your career*.

But there is one other very important thing that maths teaches us - an orderly way of thinking. You will always be faced with problems in life, and you can either try things at random hoping one of them might solve the problem, or you can try to analyze and solve the problem clearly and logically.

Re: is maths hard?

that simply isn't true, there is next to nothing to learn, all you need to learn is how to use brackets, powers, division , multiplication, add and minus, all the others are just different forms of this, EVERYTHING is a different form of this and as long as you relate it to basics you will be just fine, all fractions are is
1/3, now if i substitute / with divide, which you often use anyway you get 1 divided by 3, which is your answer, you can do the same with decimals, and all minus is is 0 - 3 if it is - 3, think of it as 0 + n.  so if n were positive it would be 0 + + 4 which is 4, if it were minus it would be 0 + -3 which is clearly - 3

Re: is maths hard?

Have you read the pages on this website? For example Long Division ?

Or for a more basic introduction Long Division - Why and How

You could also try the Long Division Worksheets. They are useful becausee you can go to the answers page to see how it is done. Once you get the idea, you can print out a few and fill in the blanks.

Re: is maths hard?

He does maths and doesn't smile?? That is wierd. The funniest teachers I have known taught maths. The business studies guys were the serious ones.

Re: is maths hard?

Here's my current maths teacher's favourite joke: What do you get if you integrate one over cabin with respect to cabin? A natural log cabin by the C! big_smile

I once had a maths teacher called Mr Weir (no guesses what people nicknamed him) and he kept going off on wild unrelated tangents.
I remember him talking for half an hour about how soap wasn't as good as it used to be.

Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.

Re: is maths hard?

7/10 = 0.7
1/2 = 0.5
0.7 + 0.5 = 1.2 miles

Re: is maths hard?

I think calculus is okay (some parts are hard eg vector calculus) but linear algebra and advanced matrices are almost intolerable.
