Coding theory

I remember doing coding theory in my second year at university. It wasn’t a subject I was much interested in, but I liked it if only because I found the topic easy to understand and follow.

Now that I’m reading the chapter on error-correcting codes in A Course in Group Theory by John F. Humphreys, I am discovering a newfound passion for the subject! Yearning.png

What fascinates me most is that coding theory combines elements of my top three favourite areas of mathematics: abstract algebra, topology, and linear algebra. ThumbsUp.gif
