The murderer can be anyone. They'd just need to send emails to the people they want to kill, like before.
If the killed is a moderator, they can give themselves a 'dead' thingy, but should also post a dramatic death scene to make the game interesting, and if they are not then they would just post a dramatic death thingy and wait for a mod to give them the 'dead' thingy. Obviously, if the murderer was a mod then they could assign the image award, but that would give away that they were a mod, so they probably shouldn't, unless all non-mods are already dead/been guessed.

You'll need to check with MathsIsFun, but I think the image awards allows jpg, gif and png.
