Dimensio of a box

The inside dimension of a box is 1 meter by 2 meters by 3 meters. Find the dimensions of a packing box of the same shape which will hold 4 times as much?

a*b*c = V
b = 2a
c = 3a

V = 6a³

a = V^(1/3)

1*2*3 = 6m³

4*6 = 24m³

a = 24^(1/3) = 1.817m
b = 6.334m
c = 5.451m

Just how many times should one be careful?

This

a = V^(1/3)

is wrong.

So is this

24^(1/3) = 1.817

but then the LHS itself is already wrong anyway.

thanks for the answers JurassicPlank4 and to you JaneFairfax, i just realized my mistake, for how I became so independent asking questions here in this forum but in fact I should be the most capable of getting those because those were just a review given to us. You know what ive just arrive to some of those answers, i gave my myself a shot, then i got it! hehe.. Godbless you all

Did you get the right answer yourself, though? JurassicPlank4’s answer is incorrect (you can easily see this for yourself by observing that the product of the last three numbers is nowhere near 24). Nevertheless, you are free to believe JurassicPlank4 if you like. If you get zero marks for this homework (or “review”) question, don’t blame me.
