Re: Mathopolis

This is my proposed points system:

actual user PointsPer losePoints Points
    3 4 2.85 2.85 2
    3 5 2.85 5.69 0
    8 9 1.58 1.58 3
   12 15 1.24 3.72 1
   20 21 0.91 0.91 4
   20 24 0.91 3.65 1
   80 85 0.4 1.98 3
   80 88 0.4 3.17 1

Being correct gets you 5 points, and entering 4 instead of 3 gets you 2 points, etc.

I feel that if you saw a crowd of people and guessed 88 instead of 80, you deserve at least 1 point, maybe 2.

Maybe I should be a little more generous, hey?

Re: Mathopolis

Sorry ... PointsPer is "how many points you lose for how wrong you are", so if the answer is "20", and you answer "21" you lose 0.91 points (from the maximum of 5), but if you answer "24" you lose 3.65 points (4x0.91), etc.

Re: Mathopolis

Ah I see, well... I guess you can be as generous as you like, perhaps instead of reducing the error for high numbers you could increase the error for lower numbers. Up to you I guess smile

Re: Mathopolis

Good news.

The scoring may be hackable ... but then I will see suspicious activity in the logs

Re: Mathopolis

I checked out the site, different from mathisfiun. You should have a Hall of Fame or something, Top 10 maybe?

its about 6 months old now, i think.
But beat bloons TD 2 first it will help in Bloons TD 3.
Get a good strategy and stick to it.

In Firefox 3, I got 5th place, but in my page it said that I got first. Maybe a remnant of careless' hacking, or maybe my browser.
