I need help..

please explain why the answer to this problem is  3 1/2

2 1/2 x 1 1/2

First you start by changing

into improper fractions.
They become

When you multiply
together you multiply the numerators (top) and denominators (bottom) together and you get
which you can convert from improper fraction to the mixed number
.

thank you for your help...but i made a mistake writing the problem, it's:


2 1/3 x 1 1/2 


the worksheet says to multifly then simplify. 

Math Is Not Fun for me.  sad    dunno
