Question 1
A projectile is launched at an angle θ to the ground. Which of the following statements is
TRUE about the motion of the projectile? (Ignore air resistance.)
(A) Its acceleration is zero at its maximum height.
(B) Its horizontal velocity is zero at its maximum height.
(C) Its vertical velocity is zero at its maximum height.
(D) Its acceleration along its upward path is opposite in direction to its acceleration along
its downward path.
(E) Its horizontal acceleration is uniform and nonzero

I can give you a hint: only one of the statements is true; the rest are false. (That is, assuming θ is not 90°; however, if θ is 90°, then two of the statements can be said to be true.)

I think the answer is (C)...is it right?...

This is a practice test question which I am solving for my test perpration and I don't have answers to it, so I just want to make sure......

Yes, (C) is the correct answer. smile

If θ is 90°, then the projectile doesn’t move sideways, so you could also say that in this case (B) would also be correct.
