Need Your Help!

I have lots of interesting riddles that my professor gives us for extra credit. Can anybody out there solve this week's puzzle? dunno

wow it took me about 1 hour to even realize that this was any relevance to my problem. I did it out like 10 times and I finally understand the first step! LOL THANKS A MILLION! You're a pure genius. =] kiss
