What median means in mathematics

Does anyone here know how does the formula of median came?
The formula that I mean is
Median,  m  =  L + [ (N/2 – F) / f ]C
Can anyone here proof how these formula came
Thank you very much if you all can help me solve this problems.

Re: What median means in mathematics

landof+, the question was asking where the formula was derived from, how it was created.

Re: What median means in mathematics

Median,  m  =  L + [ (N/2 – F) / f ]C

L is a lower boundary of median class

N is a sum frequencies

F is a cumulative frequency before the median class

f is a frequency of the median class

c is a size of the median class

wave can anyone help me to proof this formula
