Small numbers and measuresHere are the metric prefixes for all the denominations between 10^18 and 10^-18: Last edited by Laterally Speaking (2007-06-23 07:21:30) "Knowledge is directly proportional to the amount of equipment ruined." Re: Small numbers and measuresA yottameter is roughly 9000000000 ly. This is farther away than the most distant star we can observe, even if we take into account the fact that that star is moving away from us, so the image that we get is "old" in that it doesn't correspond to where the star really is. Re: Small numbers and measuresIt seems that nobody is very interested in metric measures; the total lack of replies is a big clue... "Knowledge is directly proportional to the amount of equipment ruined." "This woman painted a picture of me; she was clearly a psychopath" #4 2007-06-28 16:50:21
Re: Small numbers and measuresno, i am interested, but there was nothing to really... post. The Beginning Of All Things To End. The End Of All Things To Come. #5 2007-06-28 17:28:31
Re: Small numbers and measuresI have Metric Numbers, but maybe I could add some more examples? "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." - Leon M. Lederman #6 2007-06-28 23:39:53
Re: Small numbers and measuresOK. So maybe I should find some way of making it possible for you to post here. "Knowledge is directly proportional to the amount of equipment ruined." "This woman painted a picture of me; she was clearly a psychopath" #7 2007-07-01 16:17:13

I think yes, because Nano, Pico, Femto, Atto etc. may not be there! Character is who you are when no one is looking. #8 2007-07-01 16:19:48
Re: Small numbers and measures
The smallest distance? The radius of an atom! Or still better, the radius of a quark! Character is who you are when no one is looking. #9 2007-07-01 18:04:18
Re: Small numbers and measures
How about in yoctometers? "Knowledge is directly proportional to the amount of equipment ruined." "This woman painted a picture of me; she was clearly a psychopath" |
