Hi,
I'm trying to work something out for work and i'm afraid its 20 years since i did percentages and I just can't remember. Help would be appreciated.
If a printer cartridge has a life of 9000 pages at 5% coverage per sheet but the coverage is 8% what would the lifespan in pages be at 8%, I've got it as 7200 but I'm not entirely sure how i've done it or whether its right
Any help would be appreciated
Cheers
Pete
If a printer cartridge can cover 5% of 9000 sheets, then that's equivalent to it being able to fully cover (9000x5÷100 = ) 450 sheets.
Then, working backwards, if a cartridge can fully cover 450 sheets then it can cover 8% of (450÷8x100 = ) 5625 sheets.
A more direct way would be to just do 9000 x5 ÷8.
Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.
