algebra 2 help

I got the answer but need to show my work. Answer is x=3.
Let P(x)=x³-3x²+2 and Q(x)=x²-6x+11. Find all values of x such that P(x)=Q(x).

Re: algebra 2 help

Set the polynomials equal to each other and bring everything to one side, then factor:

P(x) = Q(x)
x³-3x²+2 = x²-6x+11
x³ - 4x² + 6x - 9 = 0
(x - 3)(x² - x + 3) = 0

This gives x = 3 (x² - x + 3 has no real zeros).
