Global Warming- It's Happening!

Global warming is happening right now... the polar ice caps are melting and more extreme weather is happening.
*shudders* Reminds me of "The Day After Tommorow"

Wow, and written back in 1996! To think nothing drastic (at least in my knowledge) has been done since then to stop the effects of global warming ...

I'm so scared after watching 'the day after tommorrow'... After 1 hour of it I just closed my eyes and buried my head in... The reason I found it so scary was because I know it WILL happen someday... And unfortunately because of past stupidity and lack of organization we are going to be the ones who suffer...

The events which happened in "The Day After Tomorrow" are just about guaranteed never to happen.

The events which occurred in The Day After Tomorrow are probably never going to occur, although I think it was a pretty cool film, what with the effects and all.

When I went to the theatre, they had enhanced the sound somehow, for some reason. They don't usually do that.

"The Day After Tommorow" is the best film I've seen! They show you all sorts of things that will never happen. The parts that freaked me out were when the whole of the UK was covered in a hurricane, New York became freezing cold as -200 degrees and when those bunch of F5 tornadoes ripped up Hollywood...

The main unrealistic thing about The Day After Tomorrow is the speed at which it happens, as well as the means. Otherwise, the truth is that we could end up in world at -40 C in a decade or so... kinda scary... makes you want to move to the equator, doesn't it?

The weird thing about global warming is that the hotter it gets now, the colder it'll get later... This year, up in the mountains, it had snowed less than it has in the past 10 years, but then, just a couple weeks ago, it snowed almost 2 feet!

Something around here is completely screwy, and it might just be the climate. This last week at school (the snow last about 2 days in the heat), the entire system has fallen to pieces... This might, possibly be related to the heat around here (I think it was about 90-some degrees F today, way more than it's supposed to be).

Global warming is REALLY, REALLY serius ( IM NOT THE BEST SPELLER!!! ) There is a part of Antartica thats about to melt. When that happens, the rotation of the earth will be thrown off and the world will be submitted to a second Ice Age!!!

Actually, the Earth's orbit gets thrown of every 100 000 years, which would mean that we wouldn't see anything in our lives last time it happened being
10 000 years ago.

Unfortunately, the melting of the ice caps will, as you said, change a lot.

The ice, when it's frozen, reflects a large amount of heat away from the Earth, but when it melts, we get seawater, which absorbs all that heat. The consequences of this process are still unknown (but I think we all know that it is NOT good).
