ok like the question unique had i am almost the same question did i do it right ?

solve :

4sqrt (x + 2) = 3
so
x + 2 = 81
subtract 2 from 81
x = 79

It's true as long as you mean 4sqrt to mean the 4th root. sqrt is an abbreviation of 'square root', so that would be a bit confusing. But otherwise, yes, you're perfectly right.

Well, I think we should try and abbreviate our roots slightly. For instance:

sqrt = square root
cbrt = cube root
furthrt = fourth root
fifthrt = fifth root
sixthrt = sixth root

And so forth...

Anyone like this idea? I suggest this for anyone who has no idea how to use LaTeX.
