i cant scan teh shape that i have in my problem
so i copied a shape form the net that looks exactly liek the one i have.
not exactly but close.
so in my problem it looks like...i'll explain it to you in words and if you can understand that would be great .
line D is 2
line B is 8
line A is 10
and
line C is 4x
so we have to find x.
get me so far?
now teh diameter as i see it is > 4x + 2
chord as i see it is > 10 + 8
and radius i dont know could be 8 or 10
so help...
please

is it like this
8(10) = 2(4x)
80 = 16x
x = 5

This is the solution

you want results so early that you pass on essential mid procedures. You should name the important points first, otherwise other people may not understand you.
The second one, the solution is:
name the points like this
A C
E
B D
Apparently, <AEB=<CED
Since <BAD <BCD are facing the same arc (BD)
<BAD=<BCD
Thus △AED is similar to △CED
AE:CE=BE:DE
10:2=4x:8
2(4x)=10(8)
x=10
4x=40
X'(y-Xβ)=0

ok as you said that
AE BE
--- = ----
CE DE
AE * DE = CE * BE
10 * 2 = 4x * 8
now that doesn't look right......
and you dont get x = 10 by teh way you showed me.
if you have to get x = 10
then this is teh way you have to write it :
AE DE
--- = ---
CE BE
meaning
10/2 = 4x/8
thats how you get x=10
THANKS ANYWAYS
and the way i did it ...thats the same way but i made a mistake on writing 16 instead of 8

Uh, I used ":" as "/", but your textbook may not allow this symbol.
X'(y-Xβ)=0
