What is the volume?

Eight equal cubes of side 5cm each joined end to end.Find the volume and surface area of the resulting cuboid.

Re: What is the volume?

Volume:

5cm x 8cm = 40cm (length)
This tells us that the new measures, in L, W, H is 40, 40, 8 (cm).

You can work from there.

Re: What is the volume?

Only the length gets changed, the other dimensions remain the same. So the cuboid would have measurements of 40, 5 and 5.

To find the surface area, you need to find the area of each of the 6 faces of the cuboid. It has 4 big rectangles and 2 small squares.

Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.
