find the distance between the points (3,6) and (-3,-6).

is this the way :

d= sqrt( (x2 - x1)^2 + (y2 - y1)^2 )

Not quite. In the x direction, they are 3-(-3) = 6 units apart.
In the y direction, they are 6-(-6) = 12 units apart.

This means that the distance between them is √(6²+12²) = √180 = 6√5


Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.

i mean if you put in sqrt180 it gives u the answer in decimals...not like that

sqrt( 180) =sqrt(36 * 5)

               = sqrt(36) sqrt(5)

               = 6 sqrt(5).
