column

A              D
\\             /|
\ \          / |
  \  \       /  |
   \   \    /   |
    \    \ /    |
     \    /\    |
      \  /   \  |
       \/___ \|
      B         C

I know it looks so wrong but thats the only way i could do it. smile
Given that :
     ~                 ~
AB = DC and AC = DB, write a two column proof to show that:

                   ~
Triangle ABC = triangle DCB

so how you write the two column proof?

Re: column

You are given that AB = DC and that AC = DB.

You can also see that both triangles share the side BC.

So therefore both triangles have 3 identical sides and so are congruent.

Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.

Re: column

Payari, you could also try to use MS Paint to draw the straight lines. smile

Re: column

MathsIsFun allows members to upload many different types of images, I believe. Since most MS Paint users use .jpg as their preferred format, then I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be much of a problem using it to design diagrams.

I'll design the diagram Payari has tried to show. If it doesn't come out too good, then I'll see what is an alternative to using MS Paint.

Re: column

pretty good, but can you pixelate it to make it less unclear by chance? then it would really be good!

Re: column

Sorry, if I were to pixelate it, it would exceed the image upload limit (which is 100 KB). The image you see above is merely a compressed version - I had to compress it of the uploader wouldn't upload it.
